Jeana Vargas, 22, had finished BS Nursing last May. She worked at the labor and delivery ward of St. Mary’s Hospital as payment for a school credit. She dreamt of working at St. Mary’s Hospital after graduation and she will give full effort to pass the board exam. Nurses who had internship at a hospital or a clinic assured them a job after graduation, but in the event of recession, that won’t happen. For her, if there will be no job offers until July, she plans to travel elsewhere.

According to Lori Henderson, the Chief Nursing Officer of Family Health West, the hospital will hire nurses in preparation for its opening. Nurses will be deployed in the pre-surgery and post-surgery functions of operating room. They prefer nurses with experience but newly grads will still be accepted. Short-term settings are sometimes ideal in jobs with severe cases. In the Grand Valley, career in longer-care spots are in high demand. Thomas advised that graduates’ must find job immediately. She also recommends them to aim at applying work in nursing profession. They should expect how to adjust in this field of expertise. They shouldn’t be picky at work when they are relocated.
