The government of England will be advised by a newly formed commission of experts chaired by Health Minister Ann Keen. The counsel will embark upon the expected tasks of nurses and midwives. Dr. Peter Carter, general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing, is grateful to the plan of the commission to recognize the vital role played by nurses. This group of health professionals will spend more time with patients to provide the basic technique to reap the wealth of ideas and experience. The essential function of nurses and midwives will be discussed by the group and also the other means to help them boost the security of their patients and the way they give care.

The way on how nurses carry out their own services will be observed. The study will be discussed by the commission extensively before they publish their proposals on March 2010. Wide areas in the study of nursing and midwifery will be deliberated. The study will include health visitors, mental health learning, disability nurses, and Pediatric nurses. Last year, Lord Ara Darzi, the health minister imposes on re-examining the health service which prioritizes the improvement in caring the patient. According to Alan Johnson, the Health Secretary, nowadays the usual roles of nurses and midwives are being altered. More responsibility for clinical care is being dealt by nurses to further develop their leadership and managerial abilities.
