Nurse Shortage will be Addressed in March 2 Forum

An affair will be launched on March 2, 7:30 p.m. at the Iowa City Public Library. The event will discover many job opportunities for nursing. Attendees in "Nursing: Not Just a Job" will gain knowledge in the availability of two and four-year programs in nursing, which also includes graduate programs. The University of Iowa will start to offer a new advancement in the nursing field. It is called the Master of Science in Nursing Clinical Nurse Leader program, an accelerated program which was assembled from the foundation of a four-year program. This will help the graduate to employ in a position that will make him a leader in the health care delivery system. An 8 percent registered nurse opportunity rate is estimated by the Iowa Department of Public Health which is expected to increase to 27 percent in the next 10 years unless solutions are originated for the deficiency.
