Programs To Cure Nursing Shortage in Georgia

To discover a remedy for an expected statewide shortage of 32,000 nurses by 2020 in Georgia, Greater Rome schools are remedying. Georgia Highlands College is giving its remedy by expanding its associate's of science in nursing A.S.N. The graduates of A.S.N. May go on their education at night with the University of West Georgia to get their Bachelor of Science degree in nursing B.S.N.

To occupy the empty space in nursing Shorter College is adding new program and just got developmental acceptance for a bachelor of science in nursing.

Coosa Valley Technical College CVTC presently offers nursing diploma and a patient care assisting program. Its practical nursing graduates can carry on their education into RN program at Georgia Hihglands College.

Berry College students can receive a Bachelor of Science degree and then can register at the Nell Hodgson University in Atlanta to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.

Short-term programs such as associate's of science in nursing and practical nursing are temporary remedies to fill the nursing shortage in Georgia. The graduates of short-term programs must continue their education into long-term programs to have permanent remedies to occupy fully the shortage of nurses in the State of Georgia.
