To develop more fully nursing programs and make greater the supplu of nurses having the necessary qualifications in the state of California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger granted as a reward $2.7 million to nursing programs from one side to the other side of California, and CSU Channel Islands was one of 18 nursing schools that were given state funding. CSU Channel Islands in Camarillo has been granted $84 thousand in state funding for its nursing plan of action. To deliver the requirement for nurses in the area of Channel Islands, the nursing program, which is in its first year, in CSU was brought into existence. The deficit is extremely numerous. Accordingly, to double the number of students of the first class from 33 to 66, the hospitals at Channel Islands donated $400 thousand to the nursing program of CSUCI. To accelerate the reduction of deficit, the number of the students must be tripled to 99 students in the second year of the nursing program at Channel Islands, must be quadrupled to 132 students in the third year, and must be quintupled to 165 students in the fourth year if necessary.
