A donation of $1000,000 has been given to the Polk Community College Foundation by the Lakeland Regional Medical Center. This donation will be used as payment for books and tuition of twenty Polk Community College nursing students who perform their duties for Lakeland Regional Medical Center. One more $100,000 will be used by PCC in equaling state money for its respiratory care plan of action. PCC provided schooling for greater than 60 percent of the registered nurses performing their duties in Polk County. That is the reason why LMRC and other Polk County hospitals have firm readiness in working with the PCC. The passing rate of PCC on the nursing licensing exam hs been ranging from 90 percent to 100 percent from 1965 until now. The passing rate of the most recent batch of PCC nursing graduates was 92.5 percent. It is higher than the state average of 83.2 percent and the national average of 85.5 percent. Polk Community College serve as a model nursing school in its own state as well as in its own nation. PCC is a nursing school that sets a good example for other nursing schools, isn't it.
