Nursing is slowly but certainly reaching the state of being a profitable profession. The majority of nurses today in America earn rationally good salaries, but becoming a nurse is truly expensive. To have great growth opportunities, nurses must have better qualifications. To have better qualifications, they must appear for certifying examinations for the purpose of getting the much needed licenses to be come full-fledge nurses before joining the workforce. Once they have their jobs, they must take up additional courses of study to be promoted, but they must leave their jobs in order to take up additional courses of study. Otherwise, if they do not leave their jobs, they cannot take up additional courses of study and as a result, no promotion. Nurses are in situation in which they have to choose between things that are all bad. They have to choose between no income and no promotion. This is a dilemma that needs a solution. Nursing continuing education program is the solution to such a dilemma. This program is an earn while you learn plan of action. Nurses can take up nursing continuing education programs, while they are working as a regular nurse. In this way, they improve their qualifications in order to be promoted without leaving their jobs. This program is a win-win situation for both nurses and hospitals. Hospitals have a steady pool of nurses ensured to take up the course that helps the hospitals to keep in possession and train their existing nurses. In an industry that has shortage of qualified nurses , it is better for the hospitals to do such retention and training than to find a new nurses. |
