A meeting with the Goulburn Mulwaree Council New South Wales Health Minister Carmel Tebbutt was held to resist planned staffing changes at its local health service. Bourke Street Health Service will not be able to offer vital services if registered nurses are swapped with less skilled staff. Chris Berry, Council General Manager, said that it is a crucial service. He added that downgrading of services or cutback in service levels will affect the Goulburn community and in the areas that surround it.

It is vital to follow a good standard of health services in rural New South Wales. The council will start to manage a good hub of medical services to Goulburn community. Smaller communities in the northern part of the Greater Southern Health Service Area are also part of the service. [via abc.net.au]
