The necessity for nursing instructors is now increasing. In the next 5 years, about 40% of nursing faculty are qualified for retirement. University officials wished to have a new incentive that will help the nursing faculty to be competent. The Board of regents lately approved a policy amendment which lets part time nursing faculty at the states public colleges to acquire graduate courses for free. Finding qualified faculty members is difficult and maintaining them is also difficult according to VP of Academic Affairs at ABAC. But based from a new policy, part time faculty will be allowed to take graduate courses for free. Charlotte Griffin took the nursing program at ABAC and she will be graduating soon. She is planning now to earn her Masters degree there and she will not be worried of the expenses. Griffin said that it is not easy trying to balance the load at home, at work, and in school so anything that will take one of those off of you would be a great job. The policy change will attract more nursing faculty with Masters Degrees to work in state colleges. Nurses with masters degree will earn 25% more in the hospitals, and there are other benefits for those who will work as Clinical Instructor, according to school officials. [via nursing-degree.com] |
