Training Courses for N.A.s, Sponsored by Red Cross

There are 3 opportunities that will be offered by The American Red Cross of Central Alabama. This offer will happen in the coming months for the certified nurse assistant training course. Hands-on experience in a real health care setting and booming job search are also included in the program.

The schedule of the classes is from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Red Cross office, 5015 Woods Crossing in Montgomery in the given dates:

Oct. 5 - 29
Nov. 2 - 24
Nov. 30 - Dec. 23

The training program for nursing assistant focuses solely to patient needs. It will guide the work of nurse assistants in hospitals, nursing homes, home health and long-term care settings.

The following are the objectives of the coursework:

  • To help the people learn self determination
  • To be able to learn to get the vital signs of the patient (blood pressure, respiration and temperature)
  • To help the patients deal with physical pain
  • To be responsive to patients needs
  • To develop advanced communication skills
  • To be familiar with medical terminologies
  • To understand and help the different needs of the patients
