DeBerry Special Needs Facility is a maximum security prison with a minimal nursing staff. Thirty RN and LPN positions are now available in DeBerry Special Needs Facility who will take care of more than 700 patients. The facility provides acute and convalescent health care for prisoners. A special job fair is scheduled to beat stereotypes about pay and security. Sandra Buford, a registered nurse, said Just because they happen to be an inmate, you still care for them. we're nurses first.
Previously, corrections do not offer a competitive salary, but now they've bumped to higher pay and benefits. Dr. Lester Lewis said that once the workers experience the benefits, they will really enjoy it. Safety is the second issue.
A security staff always works with the nursing staff. Prisoners are safer in the prison environment than in a local hospital. [via newschannel5.com] |
