Because of the complete convenience and flexibility that this time-saving option delivers, nursing professionals became quick to hold close to the continuing education for nursing online venue. Coursework can be ended any time, day or night. Certification will be given immediately upon successful test completion. The completion of the course will be automatically reported to CE Broker which has the contract for the Florida Board of Nursing for all Florida licensed Nurses.

 
Nurse-Student Ratio in Mississippi

In Mississippi, the number of swine flu cases continues to develop across the state. The staff of some schools does not include a nurse so they have difficult time to avoid swine flu cases. There are 457 school nurses state wide, 12 districts don’t have school nurses, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This includes 6 schools from Delta, and South and Central Mississippi. The nurse-student ratio is 1:11. In the national average the ratio is 1:750. In 2 years time, there is no nurse in Forest High School.

 
Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation

The shift from clinical practice to academic role will be a start of more challenges. The new Clinical Instructor of Sigma Theta Tau International had mentored a Leadership Development Program which aims to support beginner nurse educators as they learn the art of teaching and develop successful and rewarding faculty careers. It was, a professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Nursing in Newark. Forrester is also a professor in Residence and Interdisciplinary Health Research Consultant at Morristown (N.J.) Memorial Hospital and an expert faculty member for the Nurse Faculty Mentored Leadership Development Program. A $200,000 grant was given to Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation for Nursing by Elsevier Foundation (a publisher of scientific, technical, and medical information products and services). The objective is to create a leadership development program to help build the next generation of nurse faculty.

 
Medical Masks Are Mandatory According To Nurses Association

The New York State Nurses Association gathered its 37,000 members to remind them to wear medical masks; the mask will efficiently defend them from swine flu. According to scientists, nurses with close contact to flu patients must wear an N95 respirator.

Forced Overtime for Nurses: Prohibited by Law

Registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses in Texas hospitals are no longer required to work overtime. The law took effect last Tuesday that made Texas the 15th state to ban the practice of forcing nurses to work more than 12 hours. Fernando Losada, Director of the National Nurses Organizing Committee, said "It's very, very important for patient safety in Austin, Texas". It was implemented thru a group which was a part of the California Nurses Association, a union which upholds legislators for the law.
