Today, 48 is the typical age of nurses in Ohio. Besides, about 4 in 10 nurses all over the country will give up their work in the next 10 to 15 years. The lack of instructors is the main problem. We have over 40,000 qualified individuals, but they were not accepted in the nursing program because of the maximum enrolment, Andrea Lindell, Dean of the UC College of Nursing, stated. In 7 years, the college of nursing had increased from 700-800 nursing students to 1,800. |

Four years from now, nurses will be required to have a degree, the main education protest in the history of the NHS.
The goal of this announcement is to improve patient care and help nurses to bump up their position since they are known as the "handmaidens" of the doctors. However, others think of this move as an expensive period of study. Many people may not continue their nursing career. If this happens, qualified nurses with degrees will feel overqualified when doing tasks like taking patients to the toilet. They will just feel too lowly. According to Ann Keen, the Health Minister, the degree requirement will be implemented by 2013. The standards developed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) will require the nurses to have an equivalent international qualification. If nurses will have more responsibility and training in the decision-making in clinical judgments hospitals can guarantee new nurses will convene the challenges of tomorrow. |

In spite of the long hours of work of nurses, low salary was being given to them. Frequently, their care giving tasks are often not appreciated. By means of the introduction of the first lifestyle magazine for nurses entitled "Scrubs", the jobs of nurses will be discussed and stretched out. According to Michael Singer, the Chief Executive of the Chatsworth-based company Strategic Partners Inc., the one who proposed the concept of the magazine, nurses have common traits and professional attitude. On the other hand, nurses share their issues as a caregiver. Career such as Nursing is more physically and emotionally demanding especially in a care giving. |
