Most patients want to go home after being hospitalized. They easily ignore the medications and avoid the follow-up visits which are vital to them. According to Timothy Bickmore, a Computer Scientist, about 20 percent of patients who are discharged from the hospital are readmitted within thirty days, and those readmissions are avoidable. Only 8 minute-conversation happened between a nurse and a patient to be discharged. |

With the 2009 National Certification Licensure Examination, UNLV Nursing School achieves 100% pass rate during the fourth quarter. Dean Carolyn Yucha of UNLV's School of Nursing said that they are really preparing our students to enter the nursing workforce and that this recognition pleased their record of their graduates to meet the evolving healthcare needs of Nevadans. The pass rate also points an increase in students' success since the rate of 84.7 in 2008 and is seven percent higher than the national average. |

Today, 48 is the typical age of nurses in Ohio. Besides, about 4 in 10 nurses all over the country will give up their work in the next 10 to 15 years. The lack of instructors is the main problem. We have over 40,000 qualified individuals, but they were not accepted in the nursing program because of the maximum enrolment, Andrea Lindell, Dean of the UC College of Nursing, stated. In 7 years, the college of nursing had increased from 700-800 nursing students to 1,800. |

Miami Valley Hospital South started to serve their patients remotely via robot. Thru a robot, health care providers like nurses, diabetic educators, registered dietitians and wound specialists can have discussion with their patients at the Centerville hospital without leaving Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. They are using joystick to control the robot's movement in the patient's location. They can turn its head, via computer monitor. The hospital is equipped with Web cams and microphone where webcams can be adjusted to change the angle and zoom-in/zoom-out its lenses. |
