The union had signed statements by former managers and current job statistics which proved that Filipinos are being unjustly discriminated at St. Luke's. Before 2007, Filipino RNs at St. Luke's were 66 percent of the nursing population and between 2007 and 2008, 48% of newly hired are Filipino. The nurses union and the community are pursuing to stop the closure of St. Luke's since February 2008. The newly hired RNs decreased to 10%. But the nurses didn’t just give up their credentials.
